LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A 19-year-old man was arrested over the weekend by Lauderhill police after he and another man stole their acquaintance’s rental vehicle and attempted to rob him of $5,000, authorities said.

Police said the victim went to Mesidor’s home Saturday and Mesidor and another man, Makhi Mohammad, got into his rental vehicle – a white 2018 Porsche Panamera – and the three started discussing the rental of an Airbnb, at which time Mesidor told the victim he wanted him to contribute to the payment.
According to the arrest report, the victim refused, which led to Mesidor getting out of the vehicle, entering his home and then coming back with a rifle.
Mesidor then ordered the victim to drive to a Truist Bank and withdraw $5,000, police said.
According to the report, when they arrived at the bank, the victim used the opportunity to run to a nearby 7-Eleven where he pleaded with the clerk to help him.
Police said surveillance video shows Mesidor entering the convenience store, grabbing the victim and striking him with his hands as the victim pleads with him to stop.
The victim sustained a cut on his right eyebrow from the attack.
Police said the video shows Mesidor taking the victim’s cellphone off the counter before leaving the store with Mohammad in the victim’s rented Porsche.
Police said Mesidor and Mohammad were taken into custody a short time later after being spotted sitting in the stolen vehicle outside Mesidor’s home.
Mesidor faces charges of kidnapping, armed carjacking, armed robbery, grand theft and criminal attempt to solicit/conspire.
As of Tuesday, he was being held without bond at the Joseph V. Conte Facility.
Mohammad was not appearing in the jail database on Tuesday.
