A woman was standing outside by the front passenger seat of her parked Toyota Corolla around 6:30 p.m. near the 400 block of Northwest 23rd Place when she observed Carrazana walking towards her car and entering the driver’s seat of her vehicle while a 3-year-old girl was in a car seat, authorities said.

As Carrazana attempted to drive away, the woman entered the car and attempted to push him out while he was still driving the vehicle, according to the report.

As a struggle ensued, police said the woman was able to put her left foot under the dashboard of the car and slammed on the break.

Another family member that was standing outside of the car pleaded with Carrazana to allow her to remove the baby, but he refused and still attempted to leave with the car, the report stated.

After the woman tried to take the baby out of the car, she was dragged for few feet and sustained bruises on her right arm and knee, police said.

Another male relative of the child who was nearby heard screaming, ran over to the car and attempted to pull Carrazana out of the driver’s seat, authorities said.

Carrazana punched the male relative in the face as family members attempted to get him out of the car, the report stated.

According to the report, a fifth relative of the baby girl ran towards the scene and helped other family members pull Carrazana out of the car and detained him until police arrived.

An arresting officer wrote in Carrazana’s arrest report that as he was being transported to the Miami Police Department’s Robbery Investigation Unit, he attempted to escape.

As of Tuesday, Carrazana remained held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
