PARKLAND, Fla. – Federal agents arrested a man who barricaded himself inside of a Parkland home Tuesday morning as they served an FBI search warrant, authorities said.
The raid happened in the 7200 block of Northwest 68th Drive, within the Ternbridge gated community, where numerous homes are valued at more than $1 million, according to real estate website Zillow.
The FBI provided few details about the raid in an official statement Tuesday morning, with a spokesperson simply saying the “court-ordered law enforcement activity” in the neighborhood was “resolved with the subject in custody,” not providing additional information.
Neighbors said they were rattled by tactical sounds.
“I heard some noises I thought it was gunshots. I later found out it was like concussion bombs that they were using to try to get a guy to get out of a house,” neighbor Russ Elkan told Local 10 News. “From what I understand, he was (facing) a fraud charge and and it was a little bit surprising. I guess, you know, (they) said he’d been on the run for years, so we’re glad they got him.”
Local 10 News is working to confirm details about the arrest.
