MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ A 36-year-old man was arrested last week by Miami-Dade police, eight years after his co-worker was found dead inside of a trailer home, authorities said.

According to an arrest report obtained Monday by Local 10 News, the victim, identified as Jaime Gonzalez, was found dead on Sept. 23, 2015, inside of a trailer in the 4500 block of Northwest 199th Street.

Police said a Miami-Dade medical examiner determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma and ruled the death a homicide.

According to the arrest report, the trailer was being rented at the time by Adolfo Rodriguez, who witnesses said lived alone.

Detectives said they later learned that Rodriguez and Gonzalez worked together.

Police said they discovered that Rodriguez had called his mother on Sept. 19, 2015, and told her that he had been involved in a fight with a co-worker inside his trailer.

Police said after hanging up with his mother, he disappeared before being reported missing by his mother on Sept. 23.

According to the report, Rodriguezā€™s mother went to the trailer that same day and the landlord discovered the victim dead inside.

Police said Rodriguez didnā€™t make any contact with relatives for about a month after the killing.

According to the report, he finally met with detectives on Sept. 27, 2023, and provided a statement, which was redacted from the publicly released report.

He was arrested Friday on a second-degree murder charge.

As of Monday, he was being held without bond at the Metrowest Detention Center.
