SUNRISE, Fla. – It’s been a lucky week for two Publix shoppers here in South Florida.

After Monday night’s drawing, a shopper at a Cooper City Publix won a $2 million prize.

While a California customer would prove to be the next Powerball billionaire following Wednesday night’s drawing, winning about $1.7 billion, another Publix in Broward County can consider itself a million-dollar store.

That’s because one of the chain’s Sunrise locations sold a $1 million ticket.

The second-tier prize, purchased without the Power Play option, was sold at the Publix Super Market at Sawgrass Square, located at 12500 W. Sunrise Blvd., just south of the Sawgrass Mills mall.

Another Floridian also got lucky Wednesday, having purchased another $1 million ticket at the Sunshine Supermarket at 50 Wilson Blvd. S. in rural Collier County.

Wednesday’s numbers were 22, 24, 40, 52 and 64, with a Powerball of 10.

Because there was a big winner Wednesday, the jackpot for Saturday’s drawing resets to $20 million.
