Police said upon their arrival, they witnessed Yaminski Auguste, 37, fleeing westbound. He was detained shortly after in the area of Northwest Fourth Avenue and Northwest 67th Street.
According to the report, police spoke with a male victim who told them that he and Auguste had been hanging out and drinking alcoholic beverages since 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said the victim drove Auguste and an unknown woman back to the home earlier in the day, but they both refused to exit his vehicle.
The victim said after approximately 20 minutes of asking Auguste and the woman to get out of his vehicle, they finally got out of the car and he locked the doors in an effort to prevent them from re-entering, according to the report.
Police said after Auguste tried several times to re-enter the victim’s car, he then grabbed a metal chair and proceeded to strike the passenger window of the car to break it, but was unable to.
Auguste then walked around to the driver’s side and began striking the victim’s window with the chair until it broke with the victim still inside the vehicle, the report stated.
Once the window was broken, police said Auguste punched the victim numerous times on the left side of his face.
While punching the victim, Auguste grabbed the victim’s legs and attempted to drag the victim out of the vehicle but was unsuccessful and began kicking him, according to the report.
Authorities said Auguste then picked up a large rock that was on the ground nearby and threw it inside the vehicle, striking the victim in the chest.
Police said the victim suffered bruising to the right side of his head, bruising and swelling to the left side of his face, a black eye and small scratches to parts of his face and arms.
Miami Fire Rescue treated the victim at the scene, and he was later released, the report stated.
According to his arrest report, Auguste is facing one count of burglary with assault or battery.
Jail records show he had a previous warrant out for his arrest for an unrelated charge and is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
