According to the suspect’s arrest report, Wilmer Orlando Hernandez Molina and his girlfriend, who share two children, got into an argument around 7 p.m. before he punched her in the face in their bedroom.

Miami-Dade police said Hernandez Molina then pushed the victim to the floor and kicked her in the head.

According to the report, the victim screamed for help before being able to exit the room.

Police said the victim made her way outside as Hernandez Molina followed her.

The other couple saw what was happening and Hernandez Molina told them to “mind their business,” the report stated.

But police said the other woman who lives at the home grabbed Hernandez Molina’s arm as he fired his gun at the victim, causing him to miss.

Police said the couple then wrestled Hernandez Molina to the ground.

According to the report, the gun discharged several more times during the struggle.

Hernandez Molina was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder, battery and discharging a firearm in public.

According to the report, detectives tried to interview him at the police station but then stopped because he smelled of an alcoholic beverage and had watery, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

As of Monday morning, Hernandez Molina was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in lieu of a $27,500 bond.
