MIAMI, Fla. – Two Miami women are facing several charges for running an unlicensed post-cosmetic surgery home and for illegally dumping and disposing of human medical waste, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.
According to investigators with the Organized Crime Bureau, they received a tip that an unlicensed assisted living facility was providing post-operative recovery services under the name “Yeni’s House LLC,” operated by Yenisel Diaz, 38, and Yenisley Diaz-Peraza, 35. A search of sunbiz.org found Yeni’s House LLC, which was registered to Diaz at her Cutler Bay home address.

When investigators arrived with a search warrant, they found 17 patients at the facility, located at 3122 SW 139th Court. Some of the patients were being housed while awaiting procedures, while others were recovering, according to the arrest report. There were also four employees.
An inspection revealed trash bags in a garbage can on the back porch, with used bandages, gauze and cloth, which contained exposed blood along with diapers and bed pads that were saturated with human fecal matter and urine.
In the bathrooms of the residence, pads and tissue paper being dumped as regular trash, which also contained waste that should have been in bio-hazard waste bins, according to investigators. The home should have also been using an authorized biohazard waste company to remove the hazardous materials from the home and disposing of the items properly, but the pair were dumping the hazardous materials as regular trash.
Investigators said the pair “created a credible and actual biological hazard to the well-being and health of the public.”
Officials from the Illegal Dumping Unit were called to dispose of the remaining bio-hazard waste, which was discovered in the home.
They are facing several felony charges including hazardous waste violations, nuisances injurious to health, failure to track biomedical waste and violating Florida’s litter law.
The pair were transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
