POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a man Monday who was caught on camera stabbing and then beating a woman in Pompano Beach last month, authorities said.
According to BSO spokesperson Miranda Grossman, investigators took Andrew Frazer, 41, into custody for a stabbing that critically injured a woman.
Investigators said it happened around 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 15 near the 300 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
BSO deputies said after responding to a report of an aggravated battery, they located a woman who was suffering from a stab wound and multiple broken bones.
Deputies immediately rendered aid until Pompano Beach Fire Rescue arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, according to Grossman.
According to BSO, surveillance video of the incident showed Frazer arriving in the area in a silver Chevrolet Traverse, approaching the victim from behind as she crossed Northwest Third Avenue, and then trying to stab the woman multiple times and beating her.
Detectives said Frazer was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, tennis shoes, a New York Yankees hat and glasses at the time of the attack.
Grossman said detectives received information on Aug. 19 that identified Frazer in the surveillance video. In addition to the positive identification, investigative information led detectives to obtain an arrest warrant for Frazer, authorities said.
According to jail records, Frazer faces one charge of attempted murder and he is currently being held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.
