The girl said she saw her father, Alberto Molinet, grab an unloaded gun out of an open safe in the living room area, and attempted to fire at her mother, who then ran to hide in the bathroom, according to the report.
Molinet loaded the firearm, shot through the bathroom door, opened the door, and when her mother tried to push him away — he bit her and pulled the trigger again until she fell down bleeding, according to the report.
The girl called 911, police said. Fire rescue personnel found her mother dead shortly after 1 a.m. Detectives seized the gun, questioned Molinet, and arrested him at about 8:45 a.m., at the police headquarters in Doral, records show.
