Florida man wins $2 million playing Lottery scratch-off game

A Florida man became a millionaire this week after winning $2 million while playing the Monopoly Doubler scratch-off game, Lottery officials announced this week.

According to Florida Lottery officials, Danny Pierce, 64, of St. Petersburg, chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,597,848.

Pierce purchased his winning ticket at Blue Nile Food Market in his hometown.

The store will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

“The $10 MONOPOLY DOUBLER Scratch-Off game launched on July 4, 2022 and features more than $176 million in cash prizes, including eight top prizes of $2 million! The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.51,” the Florida Lottery said in a news release. “The $20 MONOPOLY DOUBLER Scratch-Off game launched on July 4, 2022 and features more than $493 million in cash prizes, including eight top prizes of $5 million! The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.02.”
