MIRAMAR, Fla. – Usain Bolt blew away all of his rivals to win eight Olympic gold medals, but the ‘World’s Fastest Man’ cooled his jets long enough for the unveiling of a new bronze sculpture of his likeness in Miramar.
Bolt came to the Ansin Sports Complex for the unveiling over the weekend.

He called the sculpture “a great honor” and took time to hold a track and field clinic for kids and fans.
Bolt, who is from Jamaica, is considered the ‘World’s Fastest Man’, because he still holds the record for fastest 100 meters in history at 9.58 seconds.
“You must believe in yourself and believe it is possible, said Bolt. “Even when you don’t feel like getting up, you need to show up and work hard at your craft and in the end, it will pay off.”
The sculpture is the first installation of the City’s Art-in-Public-Places initiative.
“This statue of Usain Bolt will not only serve as a source of inspiration for our residents, but I believe it will also attract visitors from far and wide,” said Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis.
Davis said it exemplifies Miramar’s “commitment to excellence, athleticism, and the celebration of human achievement.”
