COOPER CITY, Fla. – A pit bull puppy is on the mend after a horrible crime on the highway.
According to the Cooper City Animal Clinic, Penny the pit bull was thrown out of a moving car on the Sawgrass Expressway Saturday night.
A witness pulled over to pick her up and took her to a Pembroke Pines police station.
Officers then rushed her over to the animal clinic for treatment.
Penny is currently healing at the clinic before she’s put up for adoption.
In the meantime, police officers are investigating the incident.
