LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Police are investigating two separate shootings that left one person dead and four others injured in Lauderhill over the weekend, authorities said.
The first incident was reported around 11:25 p.m. Saturday.
According to Lauderhill police, officers received two ShotSpotter alerts in the area of the 3100 block of Northwest Second Street.
Upon arrival, police said they discovered four adults that were suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to authorities, two of the four victims were transported to Broward Health Fort Lauderdale by Lauderhill Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the third victim was grazed in the lower back and treated on scene and the fourth victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives said preliminary investigatory information revealed that the victims were standing in the front yard when a black Dodge Charger pulled up to the residence and the occupants began shooting out of the vehicle.
The vehicle then fled eastbound on Northwest Second Street towards Northwest 31st Avenue, police said.
According to investigators, Lauderhill Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Division and Crime Scene Investigators also responded to the incident.
In the second incident, Lauderhill police said they received a ShotSpotter alert around 9:50 p.m. in the area of the 5300 block of Northwest 18th Street.
Upon arrival, authorities said they discovered a Black male juvenile who had been shot several times.
Lauderhill Fire Rescue responded and transported the juvenile to Broward Health Ft Lauderdale for treatment, according to police.
Authorities have not released any information about the victims and suspect or suspects involved in both shootings.
A motive for both shootings has not been determined.
