MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā A dog is being treated for several injuries after it was stabbed and left alone in Pompano Beach.
The dog was brought to the Snapper Creek Animal Hospital Saturday, where he will be undergoing surgery.
The people helping the dog named him Justice, because they want whoever injured him to be brought to justice.
The dog was discovered abandoned in Pompano Beach on Friday with apparent stab wounds on his head, on his lip and on his chest.
āHe was collapsed on the ground, unresponsive. I guided him into my car, kind of, (to) take him to the vet,ā said Jonathan Giraldo, who found the dog.
The dog had older wounds on his eye, and heās also missing several teeth.
āI donāt even understand who could do this to an animal,ā said Oralia Daly, who also found the dog. āItās just totally cruel, just evil.ā
The people who found the dog called iHeart Animal Rescue, which is now paying for the dogās treatment.
The surgery and the treatment will cost quite a bit, with the rescue already having paid a deposit for more than $5,000.
āI said, āYes, no problem -- any injured dog, weāre here,āā said Cindy Mucciaccio, with iHeart Animal Rescue.
The people who found the dog struggled to understand who could do such a thing to a seemingly friendly dog who showed no signs of aggression.
āIām hoping by doing a police report and doing the news, that somebody will come forward that knows exactly what happened to this dog,ā said Mucciaccio.
