Victim IDed, reward offered in Lauderdale Lakes nightclub slaying

Reward of up to $5,000 offered for information that leads to arrest

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – A man who was fatally shot Tuesday at a nightclub in Lauderdale Lakes was identified by police Thursday as 29-year-old Travis Turner.

The shooting was reported around 2:20 a.m. at VYPZ lounge, located near the 4200 block of North State Road 7.

Deputies said upon arrival, emergency crews found Turner suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics later pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities said a woman was also injured in the shooting and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators taped off the parking lot for several hours Tuesday morning where liquor bottles and other debris were seen scattered along the street.

Detectives later towed away a dark-colored BMW. Its connection to the scene is still unclear.
