WESTON, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for a man who was captured on surveillance video inappropriately touching himself after entering an enclosed patio area of a home in Weston.
The incident occurred around 9:10 p.m. June 26 in the area of Key West Court.
According to detectives, the video shows the man touching himself while people were inside the home.
Eventually something spooked him and he fled the area on foot, authorities said.
“The man was wearing business attire, including a sport coat, slacks and dress shoes and had slicked back hair and a beard,” BSO spokesman Carey Codd said in a news release.
Off camera, the woman who was being watched told Local 10 News she didn’t know he was looking at her until she checked her cameras the following day.
Residents in the area told Local 10 News reporter Andrew Perez they are now on edge.
“Because I have kids -- I have three kids and two of them are girls, you know, and they used to play around here because this is a very quiet neighborhood and a very quiet and safe city – that’s why we moved here,” one man said.
Neighbor Morgan Marzo said she couldn’t sleep the night it happened.
“You’re in shock when something like that happens,” she said. “You cannot even scream or say anything in time for you to realize.”
Marzo said her neighbor had just called her husband down for dinner when she caught the man watching her and touching himself.
Anyone with information about the man’s identity or location is asked to contact BSO Weston District Detective Ashley Martinez at 954-626-4009 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.
