After The Florida Department of Law Enforcement activated an Amber alert at about 9:30 a.m., on Monday, deputies rescued a 12-year-old girl who they believed had been kidnapped in Duval County.
Detectives detained Jorge Reyes who they suspected was driving a dark Honda with a large rear spoiler when he abducted Fernanda at about 3 a.m., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies told News 4 Jax that they had detained Reyes in the vicinity of the girl’s home.
With Fernanda’s case solved, Florida still had seven active Amber alerts on Monday. The list includes two unsolved cases out of Miami-Dade County:
- Andrew Caballeiro, who vanished when he was 7 days old, would be about 3 years old if found alive now. Ernesto Caballeiro was accused of abducting him.
- Jarkeius Adside, who vanished when he was one year old, would be about 22 years old if found alive now.
