FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Authorities are investigating after receiving reports of a man with a gun on a balcony in Fort Lauderdale Friday afternoon.
According to Fort Lauderdale police, a safety alert was issued after officers responded near the 300 block of Southwest First Avenue, just south of Broward Boulevard.

Police are urging anyone in the area south of Broward Boulevard between Andrews Avenue to Southwest Third Avenue to stay inside.
Authorities are also asking drivers to use Broward Boulevard as an alternative.
