BSO detectives investigating after 23-year-old fatally shot in North Lauderdale

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in North Lauderdale.

It happened at approximately 12:50 p.m. Monday in an apartment near the 7400 block of Southwest 10th Court.

BSO deputies responded to reports of the shooting and located 23-year-old Taris Jackson suffering from a single gunshot wound to the stomach.

Authorities said North Lauderdale Fire Rescue also responded and transported Jackson to Broward Health North, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to investigators, multiple family members of the victim were located at the scene and detained for questioning.

Detectives said a teenage family member of the victim was arrested for obstruction in the incident.
