Rick Ross attends Rolling Loud scholarship ceremony in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Eight students from Miami Norland and Miami Carol City senior high schools received a $1,000 Rolling Loud scholarship on Monday in Miami Gardens.

Tariq Cherif, the co-founder of Rolling Loud, an international hip-hop music festival founded in 2015, arrived with William Leonard Roberts II, better known as Rick Ross.

“It’s not a gift,” Cherif said. “They earned it.”

The eight students who excelled academically included De’Zyre Frederick and Teeshalee Chin

“Him being an alumni and then coming back and giving back is something that everyone should do once they go off and do something successful,” De’Zyre said about Ross, who graduated from Miami Carol City Senior High School.

Rolling Loud will be held in July at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
