MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard announced Sunday that it had repatriated a group of migrants to Cuba.
The group was recently spotted floating in the ocean on a makeshift boat.
A total of 26 people were sent back to Cabañas, Cuba on Friday.
Coast Guard officials say 75 Cubans have been repatriated so far this month.
Also over the weekend, officials took 19 Cuban migrants into custody in Monroe County.
They came ashore Saturday in Key Largo near Mile Marker 94.
