1 dead, 2 injured after drive-by shooting in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating after a drive-by shooting left one man dead and two females injured in northwest Miami-Dade Friday night.

According to Miami-Dade police, it happened around 11 p.m. in the area of Northwest 52nd Street and Northwest 27th Avenue.

Sources told Local 10 News that a man and two female passengers were inside a parked car when they were approached by an unknown person who started firing gunshots at the vehicle.

Authorities said that the driver who had been shot drove off and crashed into a nearby fence.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and found the driver and both passengers suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said the man and one female were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Detectives said the third passenger was grazed by a bullet in the shooting, but was treated at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the man who was driving the vehicle later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital while the female victim was listed in critical condition.

Sources told Local 10 News that the driver who died in the shooting was 18 years old and the victim listed is in critical condition is 17 years old.
