HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a man was fatally struck by a car Sunday night on the Palmetto Expressway.
The crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the highway off Northwest 103rd Street in Hialeah Gardens.
According to troopers, authorities responded to the scene at 6:34 p.m.
Troopers discovered that the victim, identified only as a Hispanic man, was walking along the highway when he was struck by a silver Nissan sedan.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
All southbound lanes were closed for hours after the crash, but have since reopened.
