According to an arrest report, FBI agents alerted Miami-Dade police after executing the search warrant at Cabrera’s home, located in the 24000 block of Southwest 123rd Avenue in a semi-rural part of the county’s Princeton community, on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said they discovered numerous signs of a cockfighting ring.
“I observed several roosters with shaved feathers within cages,” the investigating officer wrote. “Several (items of) rooster fighting paraphernalia, such as syringes and spurs, were observed within a makeshift shed located within the property, containing several rooster cages.”
Police took Cabrera to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was being held on $15,000 bond.
The arrest report doesn’t state whether the reports of a “possible kidnapping victim” were founded or whether Cabrera was a subject of the investigation.
