22-year-old dies after being shot while riding on I-95 in Miami

MIAMI, Fla. – It remains a mystery who shot and killed a motorcyclist traveling southbound on I-95 on a Sunday evening in October.

Now, Miami Police Department homicide detectives say they have located surveillance footage that shows the person they believe is the killer.

On Sunday, Oct. 23, City of Miami police responded to reports of a shooting along I-95 southbound along 75th Street at 7:26 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a man later identified as 22-year-old Oscar Garcia on the side of the road suffering from several gunshot wounds. City of Miami Fire Rescue transported Garcia to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center, where he died from his injuries, according to Miami-Dade Police.

A preliminary investigation by homicide detectives showed that Garcia was traveling southbound on I-95 passing the 79th exit when he was shot.

Investigators believe that the suspect was driving an orange and white KTM dirt bike. Immediately after the shooting, the driver of the dirt bike can be seen in surveillance taking off southbound on I-95.
