DORAL, Fla. – Corrections officers held a 21-year-old man without bond Thursday after he allegedly confessed to stabbing a romantic rival in Miami-Dade County.
The victim told police officers a woman he had recently met called him at about 2:30 a.m., Monday, and asked him to pick her up in the area of Seventh Street and 57 Avenue and take her to a hotel in the area of Milam Dairy Road and Northwest 12 Street, according to the arrest affidavit.
The victim told police officers that he was listening to the woman talk about her problems in his parked car when Elias Riveroproll called her, approached the car, and she stepped out to argue with him, according to the arrest affidavit.
The victim said Riveroproll reached inside the car and stabbed him, so he then drove away to the hospital, fainted, crashed, and woke up at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center after having suffered a laceration to the liver, according to the arrest affidavit.
Police officers reported arresting Riveroproll at his apartment at about 4:30 p.m., on Tuesday, in Miami’s Flagami neighborhood, and taking him to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s midwest district station in Doral where he allegedly confessed.
Records Thursday showed Riveroproll had been at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center since about 11 p.m., Tuesday. He was facing charges of first-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon and burglary with armed assault or battery.
