Linhardt said detectives with MCSO’s Major Crimes Unit learned that Wilson showed a pair of bloody pliers to multiple witnesses after the assault and told them he beat Shook.

Shook, of Big Pine Key, was in stable, but critical condition at Kendall Regional Medical Center on Tuesday evening before dying from his injuries Wednesday night, Linhardt said.

Wilson now faces a murder charge.
