MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday that they are prepared to respond to any complaints of price gouging in the county following the state of emergency that was declared last week by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“Price gouging is a criminal offense. The Governor has declared a state of emergency for the State of Florida and we are joining efforts with the Miami-Dade Police Department to combat any greedy individuals and businesses that may use Hurricane Ian to take advantage of our community’s fundamental needs by unnecessarily hiking prices of commodities to outrageous levels,” State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said in a statement. “Greedy actions will not be tolerated during these stormy days ahead nor after this event wherein a state of emergency has been declared.”
