Gonzalez had last been seen on Sept. 17 of last year at New Renaissance Middle School, where she attended eighth grade.
At the time, authorities said that Gonzalez had been seen walking away from the school, but she never made it home.
Police said it was thanks to the local community and media partners that information came in leading to them locating Gonzalez.
She was found in Miami-Dade County by Miramar police detectives, authorities said.
The girl has since been reunited with her family.
