PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A 63-year-old man was arrested on an attempted murder charge Tuesday after he attacked a fellow patient at a psychiatric hospital in Pembroke Pines, authorities said.
According to police, officers responded to a 911 medical call around 7:10 a.m. at South Florida State Hospital regarding a patient who was possibly experiencing cardiac arrest and who had injuries to his head.

Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue transported the victim to Memorial Regional Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities say they later discovered that the victim had been attacked by a fellow patient at the psychiatric hospital, identified as Alexander Ramseur.
Ramseur was taken to the BSO Main Jail. The victim remains at Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.
A motive for the attack remains unclear.
