3 shot dead in West Park, deputies say

WEST PARK, Fla. – Two men and a teenage boy were shot dead in West Park overnight Monday, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

BSO spokesperson Carey Codd said the shooting happened in the 4100 block of Southwest 21st Street just after midnight.

Codd said deputies found one of the men with gunshot wounds at the scene and medics took him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Noon report:

The second man was pronounced dead at the scene, while someone drove the 17-year-old boy to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Codd said.

A witness said he heard 10 shots.

A friend, who wished to remain anonymous, tells Local 10 News that one of the victims was a business owner and aspiring rapper who goes by the name “STREETS,” but, more importantly, was a father.

“It is so tragic what happened and I just feel bad for him and his family and his kids,” the victim’s friend said. “(He) just had a small baby, which is very sad.”

Deputies are currently investigating the shooting. Officials haven’t announced whether they’ve made any arrests or identified any suspects.

Residents, who didn’t wish to be identified, told Local 10 News the situation was frightening.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
