MIAMI – An NBA player was arrested in South Florida on an outstanding warrant from another state.
According to authorities, Taurean Prince was taken into custody Thursday night at Miami International Airport.
Prince currently plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The 28 year-old’s arrest was due to an outstanding warrant from of Texas, police said.
No other information was immediately available.
Prince was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.
A first round draft selection in 2016, Prince has played for four NBA teams during his six-year career.
He signed a new two-year deal worth a reported $16 million earlier this summer to remain with the Timberwolves.
“We are aware of the alleged report regarding Taurean Prince and are in the process of gathering more information,” the team said in a statement.
