Broward officials obtained a warrant for Thompson’s arrest on July 25.
Deputies said that Thompson is expected to be extradited back to Broward County where she’ll face a charge of first-degree murder.
Thompson’s mugshot wasn’t immediately available Thursday. She was being held at the Rose M. Singer Center on Rikers Island, according to the New York City Department of Corrections.
Records list Thompson as a native of Jamaica, though it’s unclear where she resided at the time of the killing.
Officials have not yet said how Hodgson was killed or released a motive for the crime, which happened in the afternoon hours of July 13 in the Tamarac Village apartments on Northwest 57th Street.
A friend of Hodgson described an agonizing wait for answers in her death in an interview last month.
