MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā Miami-Dade police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left three females and two men injured.
Officers responded to the area of 10010 SW 173rd Terrace just after 12:40 a.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.
Police said the officers found five victims suffering from gunshot wounds outside the Perrine Rainbow apartment complex.
The victims were three men, ages 30, 31 and 41 and two women, both 48.
They were all taken by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Jackson South Medical Center in stable condition.
Authorities say they are looking for the driver and shooter who were in a dark-colored sedan.
āThey have reason to believe it was one driver and one shooter,ā MDPD Detective Luis Sierra said. āTwo subjects in a dark-colored sedan.ā
A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
Most people who live in the area didnāt want to speak to Local 10 News on camera because of fear of retaliation, but Local 10 News reporter Annaliese Garcia did speak to one woman whoās been living in the neighborhood for a while.
She said this, unfortunately, is not unusual in the area.
āIt was a lot of shots, which happens often over here,ā she said. āItās sad, I have to walk out to peep around my corner to see what I have to do to protect myself.ā
