Grieving family meets while deputies search for slain woman’s remains

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – After a 53-year-old woman vanished in May in Pompano Beach, her family is still waiting for authorities to find her remains, so they can hold a funeral.

Authorities haven’t been able to find Irene Xeniti’s body, but her husband, Ian Lanning, is being held without bond at the Broward County main jail. He is facing a first-degree murder charge.

Her loved ones held a vigil on Tuesday night.

“We knew her husband and suspected that he was not telling the truth from the beginning his demeanor and his constant different story,” Her sister Ellena Xeniti said. “My sister was an amazing person. She was loved by everybody. She was a mom and a grandmother.”

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of the victim’s remains to call 954- 493-8477.
