HIALEAH, Fla. – One person has died after being struck by a Tri-Rail train in Hialeah, authorities confirmed.
The crash was reported Wednesday morning near the Hialeah Market station at 1200 SE 11th Ave. as a train was traveling northbound.

Hialeah Fire Department officials said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police later confirmed that the victim, a woman believed to be in her 20s or 30s, had been walking alone in the dark on the tracks when she was struck by the train.
Hialeah Police Sgt. Jose Torres said the engineer remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
Commuters experienced delays throughout the morning, however buses were brought in to transport passengers to various stations.
No other details were immediately released.
