HOLLYWOOD BEACH, Fla. – A bold criminal was captured on surveillance cameras breaking into a home on the beach in Hollywood.
Police said that same man returned to the home hours after he was arrested there, and a few times after that.
Video captured the man already in the garage of the home. He spends some time on the door, and just like that, he’s in the house.
The homeowner isn’t there, but he saw everything on his cameras and called the police.
Jerome Drayton was arrested and given a notice to appear in court.
“From what I understand, he was getting comfortable,” said property owner Dan Kogan. “He took a shower and I think he was planning on staying over.”
Kogan rents out the home right off Hollywood Beach and Franklin Street.
He said the incident that happened was already shocking enough, but then less than 24 hours after the arrest, the same man shows up on camera at the home.
“We were dumbfounded,” Kogan said. “This guy is coming back again without any fear. That’s the problem.”
Drayton didn’t go inside that time, but he came back days later and headed to the backyard where he took a dip in the pool and took a shower.
For a third time the police were called and Drayton was removed from the property.
Neighbors are shocked that it keeps happening and some are worried it will escalate.
Drayton is currently in jail for an unrelated prowling incident just of Hollywood Beach.
Residents in the area want police and the courts to get on the same page and want to know why Drayton didn’t face a judge sooner to find a solution.
