OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A Tri-Rail train struck and killed a pedestrian in Oakland Park Wednesday morning.
Sky 10 flew over the scene and saw a person’s body lying on the tracks near a Tri-Rail train just south of a railroad crossing on West Commercial Boulevard, immediately west of Interstate 95. The Broward Sheriff’s Office said the tracks are owned by CSX.

The incident happened just before 10:15 a.m., the agency confirmed, coming hours after Tri-Rail service resumed after its dispatching system went down Tuesday afternoon.
A BSO spokesperson said the agency’s homicide and crime scene units are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
Officials haven’t identified the pedestrian nor how he or she ended up on the tracks.
