OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Drivers were being told to avoid an area of Oakland Park Boulevard in Broward County after an early morning crash left one person dead.
Three cars collided Saturday morning along East Oakland Park Boulevard, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
A 911 call was received shortly after 3:45 a.m. about a crash near the 200 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard.
When deputies arrived at the scene they found three vehicles involved in a crash, one of which smashed into a pole.
The male driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene, but there were no other injuries, according to BSO.
When Local 10 News crews arrived at the scene, two cars were in the middle of the road with a third wrapped around a concrete utility pole.
BSO was reporting that the westbound lanes of Oakland Park Boulevard were closed and only one eastbound lane was open.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
