Baby formula bandit has struck same Publix in Miramar 4 times over past 2 months

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Authorities in Broward County are searching for a man they are calling a serial baby formula thief.

Police say he’s struck the same Publix four times.

“He’s putting them in a shopping cart and walking out of the store,” said Miramar Police Det. Tiffany Roy.

The store is located at 18409 Miramar Parkway. He was there twice in March and twice already in April.

The volume of formula this man has stolen has led to questions about what he’s really doing with it.

“I think the typical person might think he’s stealing it for his own child. He is not,” said Roy. “The amount he is stealing is a large amount that is not to feed his own child.”

The thief has also allegedly struck a different Publix in another county several times.

“It’s creating a big loss, not only for Publix but for the community,” said Roy.

Police officers are fed up and hoping that a good tip will be just the right formula to put the thief behind bars.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
