Police: Shooter kills 16-month-old boy in car with parents

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A 16-month-old boy died on Friday after undergoing surgery for a gunshot wound he suffered in Palm Beach County.

A bullet grazed the boy’s 20-year-old mother. His father was not injured during the shooting on Thursday in West Palm Beach.

The three were in a car in an alleyway, shortly before 6 p.m., near the intersection of Fourth Street and Douglass Avenue.

According to Mike Jachles, a spokesman for the West Palm Beach Police Department, the shooter was targeting someone who was in the car.

There is a 10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the department at 561-822-1900.
