BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old man from Broward County was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison in connection with a child pornography and revenge porn case, the Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
Steven Dexter Gangoo will serve 25 years of probation following his release from prison.

According to prosecutors, Gangoo convinced girls as young as 13 to send him sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves.
Authorities said Gangoo made good on a threat to one of his victims, sharing the 16-year-old’s nude photos with her friends on Instagram.
According to court records, Gangoo contacted his victims on social media.
Prosecutors said he would “friend” the victims, tell them they were pretty and then have them send him suggestive photographs of themselves.
Gangoo initially offered the victims money to send him the photos, but once they would send them, he would extort them by using the photos or videos as leverage into getting them to send him more nude photos in poses of his choice, prosecutors said.
According to court documents, if the victims refused, he would threaten to share their photos and videos with their family and friends.
“As the chats progressed, the demands became more sexually explicit,” a news release from the Department of Justice stated. “When one of his victims stopped communicating with Gangoo, he did just that. He sent nude pictures of the minor to her school friends, whom he identified through the victim’s social media contacts.”
Prosecutors said one of the victims eventually went to her parents, which prompted the investigation and Gangoo’s arrest.
Prosecutors said Gangoo also traded child sex abuse material with other people on various social media platforms.
He pleaded guilty on Jan. 11 to producing child pornography.
