MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a rollover wreck early Wednesday in Miami Gardens.
The crash was reported just before 2 a.m. in the area of Northwest 167th Street and 27th Avenue.
Local 10 News reporter Saira Anwer was at the scene as a white Infiniti SUV was propped up against a barrier wall on 167th Street.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, the driver of the SUV was traveling east on the Palmetto Expressway when he lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the roadway, crashing into the guardrail.
Camacho said the Infiniti then went through the guardrail and crashed into two trees and bushes on the embankment.
The SUV rolled off the embankment, coming to a final rest on the grass shoulder of 167th Street, Camacho said.
He said the driver, identified only as a white man, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. No one else was inside the SUV.
It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved.
