Detectives identify Ness bike rider, motorcyclist killed in Broward crash

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives identified the two men who died during a crash on Saturday in unincorporated central Broward County as Adrian Torres and Terrance Neely.

Neely, 59, of Fort Lauderdale, was riding a Ness electric bicycle, and Torres, 24, of Fort Lauderdale, was riding a 2015 Hyosung GTR motorcycle.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, the crash was at about 5:50 p.m., near the intersection of West Sunrise Boulevard and Northwest 27th Avenue.

Neely was crossing Sunrise Boulevard from north to south; Torres was heading eastbound on Sunrise Boulevard and approaching Northwest 27th Avenue.

Investigators said the two collided and the impact ejected them. Torres struck the back of a 2009 Ford pickup truck.

Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel found the two men on the eastbound lanes of Sunrise Boulevard.

Fire Rescue personnel pronounced Torres dead; a doctor later pronounced Neely dead at a hospital.

The 60-year-old driver and the 64-year-old passenger of the pickup truck remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with deputies, investigators said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
