Miami Gardens police investigate double shooting

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami Gardens police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured Friday.

The shooting occurred in the area of Northwest 19th Avenue and 166th Street.

Witnesses told Local 10 News reporter Roy Ramos that they heard dozens of gunshots.

Sky 10 was above the scene Friday afternoon as police were focusing their attention on a black car in the roadway.

Police confirmed that one person was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the chest.

They said one was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, and the other was taken by ambulance to Aventura Hospital & Medical Center.

Police said they are not searching for a shooter, but did not confirm whether the shooting involved only the two men who were injured.

No other details were immediately released.
