MIAMI ā US. Border Patrol and Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces for Rapid Action agents intercepted an 18-foot homemade boat Wednesday that had four men onboard, along with over $300,000 in cash, along with weapons and ammunition, Border Patrol officials confirmed Friday in a news release.
āThis interception demonstrates that Transnational Criminal Organizations will try any means to go across international borders trying to elude detection,ā Scott Garrett, Acting Chief Patrol Agent for the Ramey Border Patrol Sector, said in a statement.

Agents said the boat was spotted about four miles from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, without navigational lights.
Three men from the Dominican Republic were arrested by Border Patrol agents, as well as one U.S. citizen.
Agents seized a total of $349,950 in U.S. currency, the boat, two outboard engines, two firearms, three magazines, 71 rounds of ammunition, one tablet, one GPS and two cellphones.
Homeland Security Investigations confiscated the contraband and took custody of the suspects for prosecution.
