1 dead after struck by Brightline train in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A high-speed Brightline train struck and killed a person on Thursday in Hollywood.

Officers said a pedestrian was trying to cross the railroad at Harrison Street and 21st Avenue.

Deanna Bettineschi, a spokeswoman for the Hollywood Police Department, said officers closed the area during the investigation.
