DAVIE, Fla. – Davie police are investigating a Friday morning shooting that left one person dead.
The shooting was reported just before 8 a.m. at Southwest 59th Terrace and 36th Court, south of 595.
A witness told Local 10 News that she heard two women screaming and then heard two or three gunshots.
“They were screaming like if they were scared,” Isabella Cardona said.
Witnesses said that a blue car could be seen speeding up the road just after the shots.
Authorities confirmed that the victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where they died.
“He was on the ground. I think he wasn’t breathing. Once he got shot, I think that was it,” said Chris Torres, who lives nearby.
Detectives are talking to neighbors and looking at surveillance cameras, trying to figure out what led up to the shooting in the quiet Davie neighborhood.
Anyone with further information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
