Florida’s health department confirmed 2,296 more COVID-19 cases Monday, the smallest daily increase in nearly a month. The state also reported 52 more resident deaths connected to the virus.
Florida has now verified 2,272,102 COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began.
There have been 35,783 resident deaths, according to the latest health department data. Another 715 non-residents have died in Florida from COVID-19.
Coronavirus-related deaths reported in the past day include seven in Miami-Dade County, one in Broward County and nine in Palm Beach County.
Monday’s increase in cases was the smallest since 1,613 were reported on April 12.
There have been 92,125 resident hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus in the state.

At least 9,311,399 people have received COVID-19 vaccines in Florida, with 7,088,055 people in the state fully vaccinated.Of the eligible population in the state (16+), 52.2% of residents have gotten at least one shot and 40% are fully vaccinated.
The statewide positivity rate for yesterday’s testing was 5.01%.
